This cult cartoon follows two ducks and a pet robot at an amusement park in the future where time travel is exploited. Hugely popular in the 1970s, and available today on DVD at my website, www.funonmars.com
Haunted frog house cartoon with music by Danny Elfman, (pseudonym Mystic Knights), including the song "Don't go in the Basement." Animated and everything else by me, Sally Cruikshank. Available on dvd at my site www.funonmars.com
It looks much better on the DVD!
I also sell artwork from this cartoon.
Anita the duck buys a psychic device at a novelty store in an alternate universe and creates mayhem at a crazy party. By Sally Cruikshank, with music by Robt. Armstrong and Allan Dodge
Jimmy Buffett sings this charming song, "Caribbean Amphibian" in this Sesame Street special, "Elmopalooza" with Kermit helping on vocals, and animation by me. It was my first attempt at computer animation, and it shows, but there's some fun here too!
Reggae music in this classic Sesame Street song about the Island of Emotion. I heard that some children found it too emotional to watch though it's really very sweet. Animated by me, Sally Cruikshank.
I designed and directed these main titles in 1987. They were done at Playhouse Pictures in Hollywood. A couple of years ago I was driving with the radio on, and I heard Mick Jagger talking about how he disliked them. He sings the title song. Hah!
This is my other favorite out of all the Sesame Street songs I did, based on the charming Fats Waller recording of same title. Believe it or not, the purpose of this song was to teach kids about measuring. I don't think they ran it very often.
I found this tv interview with me down in the basement. (How fitting). It was on 3/4" tape, rapidly disintegrating. I transferred it to DVD and got it finally to a decent format to upload to my new favorite place, youtube. It answers some questions people often ask me.
I made this film when I went to the San Francisco Art Institute, after graduating from Smith a semester early. It was my reaction to California. "Sweeping the Clouds Away" is sung by Charles "Buddy" Rodgers, who was Mary Pickford's husband. huh? who? The doctored photo was of an astronaut on the moon-- I thought he looked like a duck and made him one. From 1971... yikes! (uploaded by request!)
I designed and directed these main titles. They hoped they would cover the story hole which lapses between when Kim Cattrall is in ancient Egypt, and where she is in the movie, in a department store in Philadelphia. No problem. right. Animated by an assortment of very talented people who were working at Playhouse Pictures at the time.
You should see the beautiful cels that were painted for this cartoon hell sequence in the movie TWILIGHT ZONE. The girl in the parochial school uniform is Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson! This segment was directed by Joe Dante.
This is the party song from "MAKE ME PSYCHIC", 1978, for those who want to get right to the musical treat of the film. Written and sung by Al Dodge, with Robert Armstrong and Paul Yountz(?) playing along.
When Starbucks were suddenly popping out all over, in 1998, I wrote/animated an episodic satire of it all in gif animation. Now you get to see it in youtube glory. If you'd like to see more of the story, which takes the girls all the way to Mesquite, Nevada, please say so!
