This is a large free-standing 11x3 foot multi-touch screen based on the famous FTIR technology. It features a resolution of 4200x1050 pixels. In this video you can see the screen in use as an interactive trade fair exhibit for OTICON DK. http://www.whitevoid .com

intuitive desktop digital imaging with multi touch screen. new gestures and interface design. fourth semester project in new media at hfg schwäbisch gmünd. projet partners: jens franke, wera reinhardt, thomas gläser
In this video I have tested the FTIR Multi-touch table with different layers of material. Non-Woven Interfacing, Nylon PVC Sheeting and Acrylic (No material).
First test is done with fingers, second test is with a regular metal tip pen.

First test of my FTIR multitouch screen, used a mouse emulator, here (so it's not really multitouch yet :)
It requires correct lighting conditions, the projection screen is done with tracing paper (so I was unable to cover the whole screen with one sheet), but as a first test, it's quiet good.
The software is a small Raydium application, using the video API of this 3D free game engine.

Example movie of Touch Tracer v0.2.
It contains a few glitches but those are related to my FTIR panel. I roughly calibrated the touchscreen and the edge seem to leak light causing extra blobs to appear.

This is a quick video I made to see the results of using some of the flash applications and Touchlib with my FTIR Multi-touch table.
The table is NO WHERE NEAR calibrated properly (which shows in most of the apps) but is just a quick test to see the results.

This is the camera view from my prototype FTIR multitouch screen.
This is a comparison of my compliant surface (left) against the bare acrylic (right).

This is the second applications test for my FTIR table. The calibration is better so the results are ok. The first application is NASA World Wind and I'm only using the simple MouseDriver of Touchlib. The second is the Media App v2.
